Welcome
Mailer promoting David Ortega for County Supervisor
Why David Ortega is running
David Ortega is running for Maricopa County Supervisor in District 2 to foster economic collaboration and maintain the Valley's great quality of life.
"Our challenge in District 2 is to reawaken our economy and to bring our seven East Valley cities and two Native American communities together as a vibrant sustainable region," Ortega said. "We have great assets in job centers like Scottsdale Airpark and Mesa Gateway Airport, friendly neighborhoods, and wonderful recreational facilities like Indian Bend Wash, Riverview Park, and the Gilbert Riparian Preserve. Working together to build better collaboration among businesses, local government, and community groups can result in more of these assets and improve our quality of life."
According to Ortega, Spring Training 2012 is the perfect time to launch his campaign for County Supervisor. "The community efforts to bring the Giants, Diamondbacks, Rockies and ever-faithful Cubs to the East Valley and keep them here is a testament to what we can do if we all work together," said Ortega.
"As Maricopa County Supervisor, I will represent all constituents to strengthen and make all county departments more efficient, accessible and accountable."
Dear District #2 Voter:
Most business owners, teachers and concerned parents tell me that we are at a breaking point. Instead of concentrating on economic vitality, Maricopa County government has been mired in lawsuits, disconnected from residents, businesses and constituent communities.
My opponent, registered lobbyist Steve Chucri, intends to Kill the Minimum Wage.
In March 2012 his bill was pulled, but Chucri vowed to make it a ballot fight in 2014, as reported in the East Valley Tribune (H Fischer 03/20/2012.) With 45% of the Minimum Wage earners living below Poverty Level, Chucri's efforts would push more Working Poor on Maricopa County indigent rolls. His day job as registered lobbyist for special interests is in opposition to Arizona families trying to recover in these difficult economic times.
I am on the November 6th ballot to represent District 2, which stretches from Mesa Gateway Airport to Camelback Mountain; including Cave Creek, Carefree, Fountain Hills, Scottsdale, Mesa and Gilbert. Our image as a family-friendly and pro-business region is rock solid.
I am a results-driven architect with public service experience at city and state levels. While serving on the Arizona School Facilities Board, we authorized $ 1.3B dollars for new schools and renovations. As Scottsdale City Councilman, I supported a responsive public safety network, strategic economic development, programs for seniors, new recreational facilities, improvements at our preserves and beneficial partnerships with schools.
I invite you to facebook.com/ortega2supervisor to share content about my Ortega family, early years and civic involvement. Please join our campaign by making a contribution at ortega2supervisor.com, Maximum individual contribution is $ 430 or $ 860 per couple.
Let's join together and restore a vibrant Arizona worthy of our children.
Very truly yours,
David Ortega AIA
